Namo Shetkari 9th Installment Date: The Short Answer
As of 20 October 2026, the Maharashtra government has not announced any date for the 9th installment. News reports from 16 and 18 October 2026 say clearly that no official date has been declared.
Here is what we know for sure:
- The 8th installment reached farmers in the last week of March 2026. About 89.75 lakh farmers got it.
- Since then, two installments are pending: the 9th (for December 2025 to March 2026) and the 10th (for April to July 2026). Together, that is ₹4,000 per farmer.
- Every Namo installment comes only after the state issues a GR (Shasan Nirnay) that sanctions the funds. No GR for the 9th installment has been reported yet.
- The ₹5,000 “before Diwali” news you may have seen is drought relief for farmers in drought-hit talukas. It is not the Namo installment.
Our reading: The 8th installment was credited about a week after its GR came out. So the moment you hear that a GR for the 9th installment has been issued, expect the money within one to two weeks. Until then, any “fixed date” you see on social media is a guess. This is our reading of past patterns, not an official date.
Why Is the Namo Shetkari Installment Late?
The government has not given an official reason for the current delay. But the last installment shows the pattern:
- Money from the Finance Department: The 8th installment was expected in late December 2025. It was held up because of a shortage of funds with the Finance Department and finally came in March 2026.
- Verification of farmers: The number of farmers paid fell from 91.65 lakh (7th) to 89.75 lakh (8th). Farmers with incomplete e-KYC, unlinked bank accounts or land record problems get left out.
- Rumours make it worse: Messages about the scheme “shutting down” and fake dates keep spreading. The scheme is still running, and the 8th installment was paid in 2026.
Namo Shetkari Installment History (1st to 9th)
| Installment | When it was paid | Amount and farmers (as reported) |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | October 2023 (launched by PM Modi) | ₹1,712 crore to about 85.6 lakh farmers |
| 2nd and 3rd (together) | 28 February 2024 | About ₹3,800 crore to over 88 lakh farmers |
| 4th to 6th | Between 2024 and early 2025 | 1st to 6th together: about ₹11,130 crore |
| 7th (April to July 2025) | September 2025 | ₹1,892.61 crore to 91,65,156 farmers |
| 8th | Last week of March 2026 | About ₹1,799 crore to 89,75,298 farmers |
| 9th (December 2025 to March 2026) | Not announced | Pending |
| 10th (April to July 2026) | Not announced | Pending |
The chart shows only the installments with a clear reported farmer count.
What the chart tells you: About 1.9 lakh fewer farmers got the 8th installment than the 7th. If you got the 7th but not the 8th, your name may be stuck in verification. Check your status (steps below) before the 9th comes.
How Is the Namo Installment Released?
- The Agriculture Department prepares the list of eligible farmers, mostly from the PM Kisan list for Maharashtra.
- The Finance Department makes the funds available.
- The state issues a GR (Shasan Nirnay) sanctioning the amount.
- The money is sent by DBT to each farmer’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.
- You get an SMS from your bank, and the payment shows on the scheme portal.
Tip: GRs are published on the Maharashtra government’s GR website. When a GR titled “Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi” appears there for the 9th installment, the payment is close. To open the GR site, Click Here.
Who Gets the Namo Shetkari 9th Installment?
| Rule | Details |
|---|---|
| Residence | Farmer of Maharashtra, with land in state land records |
| PM Kisan | Must be an approved PM Kisan beneficiary in Maharashtra |
| Land | Cultivable land in the farmer’s own name (any size) |
| e-KYC | Must be completed (PM Kisan e-KYC) |
| Bank | Aadhaar-seeded bank account, enabled for DBT |
| Not eligible | Income tax payers, government employees (serving or retired), institutional landholders |
Simple rule: If your PM Kisan money is coming regularly, you are most likely in the Namo list too. If PM Kisan has stopped, Namo will also stop.

Beware of Fake Dates and Messages
In October 2026, the state government called a viral claim that drought relief, crop insurance and Namo money would all be credited on the same day “misleading”. Before you believe a date:
- Check whether a GR has been issued for the installment.
- Check trusted Marathi news (Agrowon, Lokmat, Saam TV and others) for official statements.
- Never share OTPs or pay anyone to “release” your installment. The scheme is free.
