Annapurna Yojana October Payment Date: The Short Answer
As of 15 October 2026, the West Bengal government has not announced any official date for the October instalment. A news report published on 15 October says the money had not reached accounts yet.
Here is what we know for sure:
- On 3 October, CM Suvendu Adhikari said that eligible women will get ₹3,000 before Durga Puja.
- In the same speech, he said that from October, only eligible (verified) women will get the money.
- Earlier, the CM had said that the money will come on the 17th of every month. This year, 17 October is Maha Shashthi, so most people expect the money a little earlier if the Puja promise is kept.
- Some Bengali news websites wrote that the money may come between 12 and 15 October. But they quoted unnamed “sources”, not a government order. Up to 15 October, there was no report of the money being credited.
Our reading: If the Puja promise is kept, the money should start coming by 16 or 17 October. If it gets delayed, the next likely time is after Dashami (21 October). Please remember this is our reading of the news, not an official date. Check this page again, as we will update it once the government gives a date.
What Has Been Said About the October Instalment
Many websites are putting a fixed date in their headline. We prefer to show you who said what, and when, so you can judge for yourself.
| Date | What was said | Who said it | Official? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Late September | Money will come on the 17th of every month from now on | CM Suvendu Adhikari (as reported by Asianet News Bangla) | Statement, not a written order |
| End of September | Remaining eligible women will get their money within October | CM at a programme in Bardhaman (as reported by Asianet Newsable) | Statement |
| 3 October | Eligible women will get ₹3,000 before Durga Puja; from October only eligible women will be paid | CM at a public event (as reported by Zee 24 Ghanta) | Statement |
| 12 October | Money may come between 12 and 15 October | Bangla Hunt, quoting “sources” | No |
| 13 October | No government update on the October credit yet; re-verification is going on | Asianet News Bangla | No |
| 15 October | October money not credited yet; lakhs of names may be dropped | Indiahood | No |
All Annapurna Yojana Instalments So Far
The scheme started on 3 June 2026. It replaced Lakshmir Bhandar (which paid up to ₹1,500) with ₹3,000 a month. Here is how the payments have gone so far.
| Instalment | Month | When money started | Women paid (approx., as reported) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | June 2026 | 3 June (scheme launch) | About 28.26 lakh women moved from Lakshmir Bhandar |
| 2nd | July 2026 | 1 July | More than 1 crore |
| 3rd | August 2026 | 17 August | About 1.45 crore |
| 4th | September 2026 | 17 September (released by PM Modi) | About 1.5 to 1.58 crore |
| 5th | October 2026 | Not announced yet | Only verified women |

y-axis "Women in lakh" 0 --> 180

Figures are rounded from news reports. For July, reports said “more than 1 crore”, so we show 100 lakh.
A pattern worth noticing: The first two payments came at the start of the month. The last two came on the 17th. That is why so many women are looking at 17 October this time, and why Puja falling on the same day has created confusion.
Why Is the October Payment Taking Time?
There is no official explanation yet, but news reports point to these reasons:
- Re-checking of all names: After complaints of wrong information in forms, the state re-verified beneficiaries. About 17 lakh names were dropped after the August verification, as per reports.
- The one-scheme rule for widow pension: Reports say a woman can now get either widow pension (₹1,500) or Annapurna (₹3,000), not both. Women who have not chosen one may be dropped from Annapurna.
- Bank and DBT problems: Money cannot reach you if DBT is not active on your account, Aadhaar is not linked (seeded), your name does not match, or you have more than one account linked.
- Puja holidays: Banks are closed on Sunday 18 October and from Ashtami to Dashami (19 to 21 October). If the money is sent close to Puja, the credit or SMS may reach some women late.
Who Will Get the October ₹3,000?
From October, only women who have passed verification will be paid. These are the main rules, as reported:
| Rule | Details |
|---|---|
| Who | Women who are permanent residents of West Bengal |
| Age | 25 to 60 years |
| Own income | Less than ₹10,000 a month |
| Family income | Up to ₹12 lakh a year |
| Not eligible | Government employees, certain pensioners, and income tax payers |
| Verification | Your documents must be verified and approved |
| Widow pension | You can take only one: widow pension or Annapurna (as per reports) |
| Documents | Voter ID (EPIC), Aadhaar card, mobile number and an Aadhaar-linked bank account |
How to Check If Your October Money Has Come
Method 1: Bank SMS, Passbook or Bank App
- Look for an SMS from your bank with ₹3,000 credited. The sender is often shown as DBT or the state government.
- If there is no SMS, check your bank app, net banking, or get your passbook updated at the branch.
- You can also check a mini statement at an ATM or at a Bank Mitra (CSP) near you.
Method 2: PFMS “Know Your Payments”
- Open the PFMS website. To open it directly, Click Here.
- Click on “Know Your Payments”.
- Select your bank name and enter your account number two times.
- Fill the captcha and enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
- You will see the payments sent to your account by the government.
How to Check Annapurna Yojana Application Status
If no money has come at all, first check whether your application is approved.
- Open the Social Registry citizen login. To open it directly, Click Here.
- Select your district.
- Enter the mobile number you gave in the form, fill the captcha, and enter the OTP.
- Open “Application Status” (Track Applicant Status).
- Your current status is shown on the screen.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Approved / verified | Your name is in the scheme | If no money, check Aadhaar bank linking and DBT at your bank |
| Pending / under verification | Your papers are still being checked | Wait, and keep your mobile number active for updates |
| Rejected | Your form did not pass the check | Note the reason and visit your BDO or municipality office |

What to Do If Your October Money Has Not Come
- Do not panic before Puja is over. If your status is approved, the money may come in the next few days.
- Check Aadhaar bank linking. Open myAadhaar and use “Bank Seeding Status”. To open it, Click Here. If it shows no bank or the wrong bank, visit your branch and ask for Aadhaar seeding and DBT (NPCI mapping).
- Keep only one account linked for DBT. Many problems come from old or closed accounts.
- Widow pension holders: Ask at your BDO or municipality office which scheme you are listed in, and choose one.
- Rejected or never paid: Visit your BDO / SDO / municipality office. The state held Seba Setu Abhijan camps on 2 to 4 October to fix stuck payments, and reports say new Annapurna forms will be given at camps in November and December.
- Helpline: Some guides list 8282082820 (9 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Saturday). We could not confirm this number on an official page, so check the official portal first.
Beware of Fake Annapurna Websites and Calls
There are many websites with “Annapurna” in their name. Most of them are private websites, not the government.
- The official portal is socialregistry.wb.gov.in. Government sites in Bengal end with .wb.gov.in or .gov.in.
- No one can “release” your money for a fee. The scheme is free.
- Never share your OTP, ATM PIN or bank password with anyone who calls about Annapurna.
- If someone asks for money to “add your name”, report it at your BDO office or the local police station.
